Fred Odaffer, 81, of Sperry, died at 6:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2018, in Sperry.
Born March 14, 1936, in Garnett, KS, he was the son of Glen Lewis and Esther Delores Clayton Odaffer. On May 22, 1992, he married Emily Jean Burd in Bates County, MO.
He worked as a boilermaker for over forty years.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He enjoyed riding his Trike, shooting guns, fishing, and telling stories and jokes. He was an avid gun collector. Fred read the Bible, in its entirety, three times in his life.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jo Lynn Evans of Charleston, SC, and Karen (Russel) Andrews of Burlington; two step-daughters, Debra (Dwain) Busse of Danville, and Gale Burd of Burlington; seven grandchildren: Seth and Mason Evans, Dylan Sperry, Amanda Odaffer, Gregory and Jordon Gehring, Emily Busse, Mathew and Christopher Pategas, and Madison Rich.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Glen Odaffer.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with the family to receive friends, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Mr. Odaffer will be 4:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service.
