Karen Kay Weicher, 74, of Burlington, died at 10:58 AM Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at her home.
Born August 6, 1943, in Monmouth, IL, she was the daughter of Leroy and Shirley J. Icenogle Tansey. On November 16, 1963, she married John William Weicher in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Burlington.
She began selling real estate for Ron Kelley and then went to work as a secretary at Apollo Elementary for Jack Lowthe. She later worked at Mid-town Gardens as the B.A.B./Manager for 25 years.
She graduated from Burlington High School in 1962.
She was of Catholic faith. Karen served as the secretary for the Knights of Columbus for ten years.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tammy (Tim Gibbons) Weicher and Tracie (Dick) Meyer; four grandchildren; Leslie Peters, Chalie Meyer, Mariah and James Gibbons; two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Ryker Peters; two brothers, Dan (Pat) Tansey of Monmouth, IL, Rick Tansey of Burlington; two cats, Sam Weicher and Jessie Gibbons; and one dog, Emry Meyer-Coffey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Mike and Gary Tansey, and one sister-in-law, Sue Tansey.
There will be no visitation or services.
