David Lee Robinson, 72, of Burlington, passed away at 3:30 AM Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born February 17, 1947, in Keokuk, he was the son of Howard Burrell and Vivienne Robinson On August 25, 1973, he married Linda Salek in Burlington.
David worked as a welder at JI Case, in the Appliance Department at Lowes, sales at Montgomery Wards and Zales Jewelry.
He was a 1965 graduate of Keokuk High School.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War.
David was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and playing chess. David loved all of his kids and family.
Survivors include his mother, Vivienne (Elder Fred Starling) of Burlington, wife, Linda Robinson of Burlington; three daughters, Rea Robinson of Schaumburg, IL, Elisha Robinson of Spring, TX and Tracie (Troy) Currie of Des Moines, three sons, David Lee (Alice) Robinson, Jr. of Des Moines, David Earl Robinson of Milwaukee, WI and Brandon Robinson of Huston, TX; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one aunt, MarScine Brown of Burlington and many cousins.
David was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for David will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Elder Fred Starling officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service. A private family burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered.
A memorial has been established for Faith Temple Church of God in Christ.
