Dolly Evelyn Phillips

April 28, 1935 ~ September 18, 2018 (age 83)

Dolly Evelyn Phillips, 83, of West Burlington, died at 11:15 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born April 28, 1935, in Burlington, she was the daughter of  William and  Edith Baker Burtalo. On September 11, 1950, she married Walter Edward Phillips in Lincoln, IL. He died May 7, 2007.

Dolly was a homemaker.

She enjoyed gardening, and her favorite flowers are Philodendrons. She loved to cook and solve crossword puzzles. Dolly had a love for all animals, but her favorites were horses and dogs.

Survivors include two sons, Larry O Phillips, Donald E Phillips of Cherokee, IA; three daughters, Terrie L Phillips, Linda S Milton, Judy L Vancil all of Burlington, 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one son Walter, three brothers, William, Edward, and Ruben Burtalo, two sisters, Mary Dewine and Virginia Marsh, and one infant sister.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM with the family to receive friends Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Phillips will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory following the service.  Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
