Kenneth James Hyndman, 88, of Burlington, went to be with the Lord at 1:10 PM Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington.
Born January 28, 1931, in Tillsonburg, Ontario, he was the son of Howard Hardy and Rena Laverne Hebberd Hyndman. On August 3, 1951, he married Roberta Louise Hoagland in Warren, OH.
Kenneth worked as a Pastor for the Free Methodist Church in Hamilton, Ontario, Snover, MI, Burlington and Waterloo, IA from 1969 until he retired. He also worked for General Electric, Thomas & Betts Corporation in Iowa City, Miller Plating Corporation in Jackson, MI, Packard Electric (General Motors) in Warren, OH and Goodyear Tire in Jackson, MI.
He was a 1950 graduate of Spring Arbor High School. He attended Spring Arbor College and Billy Graham School of Evangelism in Pontiac, MI.
He enjoyed photography, home building and repair work, computers and woodworking.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Roberta Louise Hyndman of Burlington; two sons, William J. Hyndman, of Toccoa Falls, GA, and Kenneth R. Hyndman of Burlington, two daughters, Ruth Anne Smith of Burlington and Pamela Joy Johnson of Marengo, IA; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, John Wesley Hyndman of Sioux Saint Marie, Ontario and Allan Wray Hyndman of Welland, Ontario, one sister, Margaret May Harris of Jackson, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Alan Hyndman, one grandson, Michael Allen Smith and one great-grand daughter Alexandria Renee Hyndman.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the family to receive friends Friday, September 27, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Kenneth will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 27, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. William J. Hyndman officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service. Burial will be in Spring Arbor Cemetery in Spring Arbor, MI at a later date.
