Patricia Ann Carlgren, 89, of Burlington, died at 2:35 PM Monday, December 2, 2019, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born July 25, 1930, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Harry Frederick and Rosalie Willa Todd Goudie. On April 27, 1951, she married Richard Roy Carlgren in their home in Northfield. He passed January 29, 1974.
She was a farm wife until 1974. She then worked as a High School secretary until 1985 and later at her daughter's Convenience Store "Short Stuff's" until 1995.
She was a 1947 Mediapolis High School graduate.
Pat enjoyed being outdoors in the sun. She loved gardening and flowers, boating and being on the river. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her four daughters, Sandra (Kevin) Hagen of St. Charles, IL, Linda (Bob) Borst of Ames, Deb Carlgren of Burlington, and Connie Schrader of Burlington; three grandchildren: Meredith Hagen, Lindsey (Tony) Zabawa, and Kimberly Paris; one granddaughter-in-law, Lindsay Borst; and four great-grandchildren: Diggory Borst, Emma Zabawa, Tony Zabawa, and Alyssa Zabawa.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and two grandchildren: Nathan Hagen and Nathan Borst.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Carlgren will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Smith officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Special Needs Foundation of Des Moines County.
