Charles Davis Hamilton, 77, of Burlington, died at 12:53 PM Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born December 6, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Loyal Dever and Donzella Martin Glenn Hamilton. He married Joann McVickers. They later divorced. He married Marie Hamilton. She died on November 28, 2003. On July 10, 2004, he married Patsy Burnett-Varboncoeur at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ, Burlington, Iowa..
He graduated from Monrovia High School in 1961 in California.
Chuck was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He owned a carpet and drapery business in Monrovia, California.
Chuck was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He enjoyed collecting trucks, camping, boating, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy; one step-son, Jeff (Lydia) Varboncoeur of Fairmont, MN; one granddaughter, Josée; three sisters, Joyce (Ed) Darrah, Sandra (Richard) Beames both of Burlington, and Linda (Jim) Crenshaw of Albany, OR; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Marie, parents, and one brother-in-law, John Davis.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Hamilton will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend David J. Yonker and Brooke Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Biggsville Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the Biggsville American Legion Post 1176.
