Leona Mae Brown, 86, of Burlington, died Friday, October 30, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, surrounded by her family.
Born February 19, 1934, in Danville, IA, she was the daughter of Ed E. and Dorothy E. Miller. On August 7, 1965, she married Kenneth Loyd Brown in Burlington. He died January 15, 2014.
She was a 1951 graduate of Danville High School.
Leona worked at Ace Florist as a bookkeeper for nine years.
She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Brian D. Knopp and Wayne E. Knopp, both of Burlington; one daughter, Michelle R. (Dave) Darmer of Abingdon, IL; one brother, George Miller of Burlington; one sister, Mary "Judy" (William) Martin of New London, IA; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Robert Knopp, and one infant daughter, Regina.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Thursday November 5, 2020 at Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral service for Mrs. Brown will be 1:00 PM Thursday November 5, 2020 at Prugh's Chapel. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
