Margie I. "Mumsy" Miller, 87, of Burlington, died at 4:30 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born September 27, 1932, in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Ralph and Madge Rich Ward. In 1953, she married Wayne Joel Johnson in Missouri. He preceded her in death. She then married Jerry L. Miller in Davenport.
Margie was a proud homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family.
She was a 1950 graduate of Oskaloosa High School.
Margie was of Christian faith and attended of St. Luke's Church of Christ. Margie's family was her world. One of her fondest memories was her time spent in Germany as she started a young family. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She liked to cook, play card games and travel with her friends and family.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry of Burlington; two sons, Kevin (Terri) Johnson of Yarmouth, and Jeff (Tammy) Miller of Burlington; three daughters, Demaris (Kevin) Luttenegger of West Des Moines, Teresa Vahle of Ocean Springs, MS, and Pam (Rick) Haar of Robbinsdale, MN; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brother, Ralph "Jr" Ward of Marshalltown, and Gary Adolphson of West Burlington; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Rich, and first husband, Wayne Johnson.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established in her name.
