Mary Jane (Lamb) Huston

March 2, 1941 ~ May 10, 2020 (age 79)

Mary Jane Huston, 79, of West Burlington, died at 7:10 pm Sunday, May 10, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born March 2, 1941, in Galesburg, IL, she was the daughter of Gerald Lamb and Rose Pearl Cooksey. She was married to Harry Talley Jr. for 17 years, and had 6 children together. They later divorced, and Harry passed in 2015. On August 18, 1981, she married Richard L Huston in Burlington, Iowa.

Mary was a homemaker and worked as a cook at the Burlington Golf Club and as a nurses aide.

She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1959.

She was a woman of strong faith, who liked to share it with everyone, and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Mary was fond of being outdoors, fishing, gardening, camping and going out on the boat and enjoying some chocolate and an ice cold Pepsi. She was always up for a trip to Las Vegas, and playing bingo. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween, and her favorite, Christmas. She appreciated Native American art and culture, and was an avid angel collector. Family was her life. When her kids were younger, she would host a dance party in the basement for all the neighborhood kids every Saturday. She loved to bake cookies for Christmas, and cook family meals. As her kids grew up, and her family grew in size, nothing made Mary happier than to see them all together.

Survivors include husband, Richard L Huston of West Burlington, IA,  three daughters, Karen (David) Tweed of Galesburg, IL, Judith Heath of Cedar Rapids, IA, Merri (Rod) Haight of Robins, IA; two sons, Mark (Janelle) Talley of Burlington, Wayne (Kim) Talley of Burlington; two step-sons Bradley (Ginger) Huston of Danville, Bryan (Amanda) Huston of TN; 43 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, 3 nieces; and one brother, Jerry (Patty) Cooksey of Larned, Ireland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Shawn Annette Chandler.

There will be a private family graveside at a later date.
