Melvin Greiner, 78, of Burlington, died at 4:05 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born July 28, 1941, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles and Reva Herron Greiner. On October 13, 1995, he married Shirley Jean Walker in Burlington.
Melvin worked at Benner's Consolidated Freight for over 20 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to watch TV, especially Westerns featuring John Wayne. He was an animal lover.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Burlington; two daughters, Lori Land and Patena "Tina" Greiner-Brown both of Burlington; one step-daughter, Connie (Allen) Schille of Danville; two step-sons, Terry (Debbie) Downs and Kurt Downs both of Burlington; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and brother, Dwight Greiner of Kansas City, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one son, and one step-son.
A private family graveside service Mr. Greiner will be Friday, May 8, 2020, at North Walker Cemetery.
