Myrna Evelyn Kirkpatrick, 87, of Burlington, died at 7:52 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Born April 28, 1932, in Dahlgren, IL, she was the daughter of Everett E. and Ardice Isenhart Mathews. In January of 1952, she married Donald Schaper and they spent 59 years together before his passing in 2011. She married George Kirkpatrick in 2014. He preceded her in death in 2019.
Myrna worked as the Avon District Manager in southwestern Wisconsin. After her husband Don passed, she went back to work part time making Donuts at Casey's. Customers enjoyed the special sprinkles she bought to put on the donuts.
Myrna was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. She loved crocheting hats for the Happy Hats Ministry in Weatherford, TX. Her hats were distributed to newborn babies at military bases in Texas. She made thousands of them over the years. She also enjoyed reading and watching movies.
Survivors include her two daughters, Christine M (Richard) Horne of Burlington and Becca Nichols of Davenport; three sons, James R (Jane) Schaper of OH, Donald Schaper of Minneapolis, MN, and John (Leslie) Schaper of Peru, IL; one daughter-in-law, Christie Schaper of New Glarus, WI; ten grandchildren, Scott Arnold, Sean Arnold, Matthew (Lisa) Stivarius, Joseph (Dani) Stivarius, Lucas (Billie) Stivarius, Nicole Matthys, Michelle (Shannon) Disch, Mariah (Justin) Janisch, Ryan Schaper,and Jimmy Schaper; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Shaver of CO and Katherine Felsheim of Des Moines, IA; and one brother, James (Mary Ann) Matthews of GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her son Daniel Schaper and her sister Phyllis Lepper.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Heritage Baptist Church.
The funeral service for Mrs. Kirkpatrick will be 3:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Heritage Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Cranston officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Heritage Baptist Church following the service.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Prugh Crematory following the service.
