Noma Lorraine Hoffman, 94, of Burlington, died at 6:15 AM Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Savannah Heights in Mount Pleasant.
Born April 1, 1926, in North Liberty, IA, she was the daughter of Theodore and Mearle Brogen Crippen. On November 1, 1944, she married William Inman Hoffman in Mt. Vernon, IA. He died on August 4, 2015.
Noma was a enthusiastic antique dealer and was the owner operator of Wildwood Antiques and Old Stone Mill Antiques in Burlington.
She was quite a people person who could talk for hours. She loved antiquing and attending auctions, flower gardening was her favorite outdoor activity. She was an amazing artist, her specialty was China and China lamp painting, along with oils on canvas of wild life and landscapes. She was active with the Burlington art guild in the 70s. Family time was very important to her, and she loved cooking dinners for family and friends. Her amazing smile and kind giving heart will be missed by all who knew her. However she will live in the hearts of all who knew her.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (James) Beriault of Burlington; three grandchildren, Tamatha Hoffman Carper of Sandwich, IL, Melissa (Zach) Kloewer of Dexter, IA, and Natalie (Eric Brackin) Beriault of Lumberton, TX; four great-grandchildren, Jaron, Adeline, Henry and Bently; and one brother, William (Delaine) Crippen of North Liberty, IA.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Daniel M. Hoffman, daughter-in-law, Bridgette Hoffman, and one great-grandson, Carter Joseph Brackin.
The Graveside Committal Service for Noma Hoffman will be at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2020, in the Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty, Iowa.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
