Opal V. Lee, 95, of Burlington, died at 7:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2020, at the West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville.
Born October 13, 1924, in Stronghurst, IL, she was the daughter of Halyard Adolphus and Bradie Allcock Corley. Opal was a graduate of Farmington High School. On May 22, 1945, she married Harold Walter Lee in Bremerton, WA. He passed away August 19, 2006.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Eagles F.O.E. Auxiliary. She enjoyed cross stitching, bowling, the St. Louis Cardinals, SCC Blackhawk basketball, camping with her family and spending time with her great grandkids.
Survivors include her son, Terry Lee of Burlington; daughter, Anita (Rich) Bailey of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, Steven Rheinschmidt, Kathryn Rheinschmidt, Caren (Craig) Krauss, Jason Rheinschmidt, Bryan Lee, Kimberly Lee, Leesa (Scott) Briney; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jaxon Franklin and Isaac and Alex Lee; and one sister, Helen (Ed) Dettmer of Argyle, IA.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Timmy, two brothers and one sister.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Opal's family is planning a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
Memorials have been established for Grace United Methodist Church, Eagles Aerie 150, and SCC Blackhawk Boosters.
