Obituary

Patricia M. Coakley , 84, of Burlington, died at 8:50 pm Saturday, September 5, 2020, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born December 22, 1935, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Charles and Marie Behne Meyer. On December 29, 1953, she married Timothy William  in Burlington, Iowa. He later passed on July 17, 2009.

She was a graduate of  St. Paul's Catholic High School.

She was a homemaker as well as an Office Manager for Brayton Chemical for many years.

She was of a strong Catholic Faith, and a member at Divine Mercy Parish-SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church. She was also an avid tennis player and a member of the Shoquoquon Tennis Association. She was a generous person throughout her entire life, volunteering on several occasions at St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank and Hopefully Yours. She enjoyed gardening and cultivating flowers, and spending time with her card club, a group of friends since high school, playing Mahjong. Most of all she loved her family, and was always there to show her support at all of her grandkids games and events.

Survivors include three sons, Timothy (Terry) Coakley of Fountain Valley, CA, Douglas (Lori) Coakley of New London, IA, and Terry Coakley of Burlington; two daughters, Danna Campbell of New London, IA, and Gena (Rob) Garber of Beaman, IA; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Lewis of Pottsboro, TX and Nadine (Therese) Meyer of Elm Grove, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter Lynn Ingram, and one brother, Charles Meyer.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish-St John The Baptist Catholic Church.

The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Coakley will be Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish-St John The Baptist Catholic Church with Very Rev. Fr. Marty as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
