Steven Eastin , 63, of Burlington, died at 10:49 AM Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born November 2, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of Dean Edmond and Clella C. Hamilton Eastin.
He was a 1974 graduate of Burlington Notre Dame High School.
Steven worked for the Typewriter Shop downtown, then B. Dalton's bookstore and most recently as a custodian for the Burlington Community School District.
Steven enjoyed reading anything he could get his hands on. He was an "information hoarder" and knew almost as much as Google. He liked to play Words with Friends, take walks, go fishing and listen to Bruce Springsteen.
Survivors include his fiancee and partner of 20 years, Paula Robertson of Burlington; one son, Drew (Katie) Eastin of Burlington; one step-daughter, Kendra (Jason Davidson) Robertson of Burlington; one granddaughter, Aurora; four sisters, Sharon (Berkeley Brandt) Heintz of Ventura, CA, Sheryl Eastin of Iowa City, Sue (Jim) Engler of Coralville, and Sandra (Wilbur) Grinnell of Burlington; one brother, Gregory (Sue) Eastin of Burlington; former wife, Virginia Day of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two brothers, Michael and Jeffrey and one sister-in-law, Toni Eastin.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
