Steve Waldorf, 68, of Tularosa, New Mexico died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Alamogordo, New Mexico hospital.
Born August 17, 1951, in Burlington, he was the son of Joseph Phillip and Phyllis June Baird Waldorf.
Steve was a musician for 51 years.
He attended Apollo High School in Burlington.
Steve enjoyed drawing, writing and recording music. He recorded his first record in Nashville in 1979. He enjoyed spending time with his family and making them laugh until they cried. Besides his musical ability he had the ability to entertain and make people laugh. Steve would want to be remembered for his humor, his exceptional guitar playing and ability to sing and harmonize. He was fun loving and he loved his family, he was protective of his baby sister when he could be, and when his health no longer let him do that, she protected him. His two older brothers have picked up where Steve left off and in his legacy we are once again a whole family, laughing and caring for each other. Your music and your laughter will be missed.
Survivors include two sons, John Joseph David Waldorf and Steven James Waldorf both of Burlington; one sister, Annette (David) Shaffer of Burlington; two brothers, David Joseph Waldorf of Burlington, and John (Sarah) Waldorf of Denver, CO; one niece, Brianna Waldorf of Waukee, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents.
There will be no formal visitation or services at this time.
