Wanita "Ann" Levins, 87, of Burlington, died at 5:31 PM Monday, December 2, 2019, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born February 11, 1932, in Mt. Union, she was the daughter of Leland E.and Laura F. Walker Bozarth. On July 14, 1952, she married Donald Thomas Levins in West Burlington. He passed on January 4, 2010.
Ann earned her RN degree from the Burlington School of Nursing and practiced nursing at St. Francis, Klein Center, and Hope Haven where she spent 37 years giving and caring for clients.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV, doing word searches and reading. She was an excellent cook and always looked forward to preparing for and hosting family dinners.
Survivors include her three sons: Tom Levins of Burlington, Steve (Vickie) Levins of West Burlington, and Bryan Levins of Burlington; three daughters: Chris Phillips of Burlington, Amy (Scott) Smith of Bettendorf, and Jill Levins of West Des Moines; 10 grandchildren: Tara (Kevin) Dowd, Matt (Sandra) Levins, Eric Levins, Justin Levins, Rachel Levins, Tyler Levins, Logan Hoschek, Garrett Hoschek, Spencer Smith, and Parker Smith; seven great-grandchildren: Moriah, Colin, Kile, Allison, Daniel, Rodrigo and Lucas; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Joan Johnston and Roxanne Hoschek, one son, Kevin Levins, four brothers, Willis, Gene, Keith, and Marvin, and five sisters, Bernice Peterson, Bernadine Larson, Bonita Richenberger, Garnet Coberley and Joyce Bozarth.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends following a 4:00 PM Rosary Service until 7:00 PM Friday, December 6, 2019, at Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Levins will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Divine Mercy Parish-St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Burlington. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the cafeteria of St. John's Catholic Church following the burial.
