Judith Ann "Judy" Johnson, 76, of Burlington, died at 12:59 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born August 25, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Harold N. "Bill" and Helen L. Day Goodman. On May 9, 1970, she married Darrell W. Johnson in Danville, IA. He passed on July 9, 2005.
She was a 1961 graduate of Bushnell Prairie City High School in Bushnell, IL. She then attended Burlington Beauty Academy from 1962-1963. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria, IL in 1965. She had worked in nursing at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Danville Care Center in Danville, Maple Leaf Manor in Mt. Pleasant, Mercy Hospital and the Burlington Medical Center. She retired from nursing in 2005.
Judy was of Baptist faith and was a member of the Burlington Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gayle (Kenneth) Albright of Washington, IA, and Donna Johnson of Mount Pleasant; three grandsons: Travis, Aaron and Stephen; one brother, Ken Goodman of Galesburg; one sister, Nancy (David) Meth of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2019 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Judy will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2019, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Kendall Adams officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. A potluck luncheon in celebration of Judy's life will be held at Autumn Heights at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Burlington Baptist Church.
