Theresa Rose Marshall, 81, of Mediapolis, died Monday, October 28, 2019, at her home. She peacefully joined her husband, Clarence.
Born April 5, 1938, in Quincy, IL, she was the daughter of Joseph Aloysius and Helen Catherine Treaster Bastean. Of their ten children she was the last to arrive and the last to leave. On May 5, 1956, she married the love of her life, Clarence Lewis Marshall in Wapello. He passed December 13, 2013.
She left home to attend Beauty School in Burlington but never cut hair professionally. She chose instead to work in the factories where she could make more money and have benefits. With no accounting education she kept excellent books for Clarence's small businesses.
Theresa and Clarence loved nothing more than their family. They enjoyed their grandkids and following their interests and attending their performances ranging from racing to theater. They spent many summers taking them on vacations. Their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have been their source of pride.
Theresa enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, Halloween, game shows, playing video games, feeding the squirrels and chatting over coffee at her kitchen table.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Dick) Howard of Sperry and Larry Marshall of Mediapolis; five grandchildren, Daniel Marshall, Andrew Howard, Kelsey Howard, Marcus Marshall and Emma Marshall; five great-grandchildren, Lacey and Lucas Quinn, Mason and Camden Marshall and Ella Quinn.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, four sisters, and beloved daughter-in-law, Teresa Marshall.
There will be no services held for Theresa. Her body has been donated to the Deeded Body Program at the University of Iowa. Upon the return of her ashes, her family intends to spread them in a meaningful way.
