Michael R. Fry, 73, of Burlington, died at 11:45 AM Sunday, March 1, 2020, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born May 25, 1946, in Burlington, he was the son of Lee and Thelma "Maxine" Ramsey Fry. On September 5, 1970, he married Theresa Chvosta in Denmark, IA.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam war.
Michael was an electrician for the IBEW Local #13 Union.
He was the commander of the VFW #10102, VFW #2449, and Amvets Post #29. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Burlington Aerie 150 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #579. Michael was the city champion in darts and billiards. He also enjoyed reading.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Burlington; son, Ryan (Nichole) Fry of West Branch; two grandchildren, Zachary and Brianna; and his best friends, Rick White and Gooch.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ike, Dick and Denny Fry.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard to conclude the visitation.
