Ronald Merle Yaley, 66, of Burlington, died at 5:58 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born July 10, 1953, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Merle and Hazel Mowrey Yaley. On July 20, 1973, he married Sheila Roth. They later divorced. He married Barbara Moffett. They later divorced. On April 10, 1995, he married Sharon Lefstein in Oquawka, IL. They would have celebrated 25 years together this year.
He was a 1971 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. He graduated from SCC and also attended college in Moline and the University of Iowa.
Ron was in insurance sales most of his life prior to meeting his wife Sharon. Ron met Sharon while the two of them were in training for blackjack while working for Catfish Bend Casino. He would work his way up to Poker Room Manager while working there. Ron and Sharon would go on to work several different jobs together.
Earlier in his life he was of the Presbyterian faith. He loved sports in high school, he played football and was the first state qualifier for Mt. Pleasant High School wrestling. He loved the Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, golfing, and was a sports fanatic. Ron was always so kind and would do anything for anybody, he was well loved.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Yaley of Burlington; father, Merle Yaley of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Kesh (Dr. Robert Greiner II) Hecker-Greiner, Danica (Aaron) Tolen both of Lees Summit, MO and Dana (Michael Daly Joseph III) Albright of Burlington; one son, Brandon Yaley of Kansas City, MO; step-son, Jeremy (Jody) Kemp of Crystal Lake, IL; step-daughter, Leslie (John) Kyriakopoulos; grandchildren, Karagen & Logan Hecker, Haley, Natalie & Tyler Albright, Taryn & Amira Tolen,expected June 8, 2020, Braiden & James Joseph "JJ" Yaley; one great-grandson, Braxton Ross; step-grandchildren, Trey, Triniti & Tristyn Greiner, Avery & Kingston Tolen, Kylie, Johnny Kemp and Jonathon Kyriakopoulos.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and infant brother, Richard.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Ronald will be 4:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain David Plooster officiating.
